Digital Product Passport Compass Cradle to Cradle™: Greater Transparency for Our Technical Textiles

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) will play an important role in product transparency in Europe in the future. Grabher Group is preparing for this development at an early stage and is already making relevant product and sustainability data transparent today.

What is the Digital Product Passport?
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a key element of the European circular economy. In the future, it is intended to make relevant product information – such as materials, origin and circularity – digitally accessible, creating greater transparency along the value chain.

Our Step Towards the DPP

Together with epeaswitzerland, the Digital Product Passport Compass Cradle to Cradle™ was created for three Grabher Group material groups:

The Compass structures and evaluates existing product and sustainability information, including aspects such as material health, circularity, supply chain, and energy & CO₂.

An important distinction: the C2C Digital Product Passport Compass is not the same as the future legally required EU Digital Product Passport. For us, it is a tool that enables us to present relevant product data transparently today and to prepare at an early stage for upcoming requirements.

Cradle to Cradle – Thinking of Materials in Cycles

Cradle to Cradle is based on the idea of viewing materials not according to the principle of “produce – use – dispose”, but of keeping them in technical or biological cycles for as long as possible.

This is exactly where we come in: we aim to create transparency and consistently develop our technical textiles towards a circular economy.

Transparent today. Ready for tomorrow.
